Lewisville Historical District

Lewisville got its start around 1845 with our rich soils for crops and open spaces for cattle. Lewisville is derived from a man by the name of Basdeal Lewis, a wealthy land surveyor and land speculator. He laid out town lots and gave "Lewisville" it's name before he and his family moved on.

Many families came here to settle and raise families from the deep south starts. To this day those prominent family names mark our streets, schools, parks and businesses. Just look around to see that in spirit they are still here with us today.
